Day 244: The newest member of our family

A Mazda 5 micro minivan.  It still doesn't have a name.  Any suggestions?

We had the most amazing thunder/rain/hail storm this afternoon.  This cloud was part of the aftermath.  I love it when it rains and then the sun makes everything such brilliant, clean white.  It's like the rain washes everything, and the sun polishes it.

DAy 243: Moving Up

Probably the worst "photo of the day" photos of all time.

I'm not even editing it right now.  As is.  A migrainey headache will do that to a person.  So it's posting, meds, and bed.  Yay!

OK.  Today was Adam's "Moving Up" program in preschool.  I didn't want to use my flash, fearing to disturb anyone's video.  So I set everything for nonflash photography, and was happy that all the kids were sedately walking down the aisle to the stage.

All except Adam.

Here's his photo.  Note the tongue.

Yup.  That's my boy.  RACING and JUMPING full speed down the aisle, grinning at everyone with his tongue sticking out.

Makes me so proud.  Ah yes.

****

Name that classic toy.

So I'm asked to come into the living room so I could view something special that Adam had built.  Chest puffed out, so pleased with himself, he shows me this:

Can you guess what it is?

It's a Jack-In-A-Box.

It had to stay smack dab in the middle of the living room all day.

I think we need to get out more...

Day 242

Set up a photo booth for a Young Women activity tonight.  Here is an example.  I have a bunch more to finish.  The girls are such a kick!

OK.  To work on the others.  Good night!

Day 241

Julia proudly told me that she would tell me what I should photograph as the photo(s) of the day.

So. Here we go!

All these were taken just after bath time.

One of Julia's classmates had a birthday today, and everyone was given one of these little candy tractors:

And no, there isn't a hint at an impending arrival to our family with this book.  Julia just likes to look at the names.  Find the names of her friends and family and see what they all mean.  I figure it's a lesson in finding things in alphabetical order!

Day 240: Finally. It's done. For now.

Book three read.

I think we are going to let Harry lie for awhile.  We're ready for something different, like Rascal or Ginger Pye or 21 Balloons or Anne of Avonlea or one of the other books we picked up at the used bookstore last week.  A little bit of light and fun and sweetness to cut the intensity of Harry and Co.

Harry is going on summer holidays.  It may be an extended vacation.  We'll invite him back again.  Eventually.

Day 239: Maddening Puzzle

Spent a good 20 minutes today trying to put this hot wheel track back in the box.  I did it once--last year.  Couldn't figure it out this time.

Any ideas?

Here's the first one.  One piece in the box in the only way it will fit:

And here's another one with the triangular piece in the spot where one would THINK it would fit.

It does not.  See that long red piece?  It sits on top of the gray one, and the lid won't close.

I finally gave up.  Any ideas?

Night.

Day 238: At the concert

Julia's spring concert was today.  I don't have photos of her, because they'd look the same as the Christmas ones.  And, once again, without the right lense, and leaving my point and shoot at home that has a good zoom (duh), there wasn't much point.

BUT one of the older girls played her cello for a piece, so I quickly snapped on of the cello sitting on the stage.

Picture taken and posted?

Check.  :oD
