AAARGH!

I am losing my mind!  After 170 days, yesterday I COMPLETELY forgot to take a photo!  When we were getting ready to go over to a friend's place to watch the US/Canada hockey game, I said to myself, "bring your camera."  Got in the car and down the road and realized I'd left it at home.  Then the game began.  Oh my goodness.  I thought I was going to have a heart attack.  Being the only Canadian in a room full of American fans, I armed myself with a couple of signs and my red mittens and had to scream extra loud.  By the end of the third, I was digging my fingers into my arms...at 24 seconds the room erupted---with one notable exception, of course

Then OT.  My eyes unwilling to look but unable to turn away.  Heart in my throat.

I think only now am I able to breathe again.

It was an amazing game.  Even if the US had won, it would have been bearable, because the game was so well played, so fast, and with so few penalties.  Fast.  No fights.  Three incidental penalties.  Both teams playing with exceptional skill and drive that is rarely seen.  Only at the Olympics

And thousands of people all singing Oh Canada?  Glorious.

Then home, to find I had a sick little girl.  The cough that plagues her most winters has gone down into her chest, she had a fever, and will be going to the doc today, who will most likely say she has bronchitis (as per the routine) and prescribe the usual antibiotic run.

After she went to bed, it was closing ceremonies time, to see the smile on Joannie Rochette's face holding Canada's flag and those awesome inflatable beaver (but what was with Catherine O' Hara?  Honestly.)  Then bed then...

...this morning I realized that I hadn't posted.

I'll take two today to make up for it.  Am I forgiven?  I'm Canadian.  It was an epic hockey game.  What better excuse do I have?

Oh, Lynn that's so funny, that that would be the day you miss. I was driving home from NYC, listening in the car; what a game. Congrats. And yes, you're forgiven!!
