Problem? These aren't Smarties to me. Smarties will always be candy coated chocolate disks slightly smaller, but way tastier, than m&ms. But once I get over that and to the tangy sweetness of these Smarties, I'm OK with that!
Now on to something else that's sweet. Today a friend of mine pointed out the blog of a friend of hers in England. The blog is brilliant. Yes, there's blatant brutalization of spelling and grammar, but I suspect it to be a ploy to add to the charm. And it works. I don't know when I've laughed so hard. He has in his possession a book that gives a task a day, from praising unsung achievements to writing a letter to the military giving advice to sketching someone on public transportation and seeing how they react. And those are the tame ones! His mission is to go through the book, following the rules of the book to the letter. It. Is. Hysterical.
Sweeeeeet!!! You can find him here. Although he isn't able to post every day, I'm for sure going follow and see what crazy things he is up to as required by his twisted need to follow the rules at all costs.
But first, time to head over to Jane's at Spain Daily and see other sweet thangs!

I have never heard of these chocolate thingys that also go by the name of smarties. They sound better than the ones I am familiar with. I love your picture of them!
That blog sounds hysterical. I am off to read for sure.
I like the picture. I like all your pictures:)
I'm off for that good laugh:)
chocolate smarties, I've obviously been missing something in life! I will check these blogs out.
Elizabeth and Suzicate: I haven't seen them down here. It's just one of those odd differences between Canada and the US. You might need to order them. They're made by Neilson, I think. Or Cadbury. Way better than m&ms. But I'm not a fan of Hershey chocolate. *ducks for cover*
Ocean Girl: Thanks! And I see you checked out Mike's blog. Pretty funny, eh?
I'ld like to taste these new smarties as well !!!!
In Canada we have candy coated chocolate Smarties and we call Smarties "Rockets" -- which is pretty much what those awesome little candies do to your mouth. Like the pictures. Send some to me?
Otli: Pop over the channel. I'm sure they have 'em in Britain.
Sis: Let's make a trade. Throw a box or two or three or ten of the real Smarties in Miss J.'s box, and I'll send you a bundle of these ones!
oh as soon as i saw this photo, i was in love.
xo
I love that photo! And I love Smarties, too! Also, I am certainly going to check out this blog you've mentioned. Glad to have found yours as well! :)

Unabridgedgirl: Thanks for stopping by! And isn't Mike's blog fun?
Jane: It is! He's going to wonder where all these women are coming from. LOL
La ninja: teehee--I hope he remembers us when he gets his big break. ;o)
Over here in Athens, it's pretty difficult to obtain smarties - thank you very much for these memories.
Please have a wonderful Friday.
oh my I didn't know there was any other kind of smartie. Definitely the choc coated ones over here. The ones in your pic are called fizzer here, how funny. Great shot though cheers from Downunder
It is so funny! I was just having a conversation last week at my Photography club where one of the ladies said she has a serious addition to smarties. I said really. They don't do anything for me. I don't really like the candy coating on top of the chocolate. She gave me a puzzled look and said no I am talking about smarties the candy disk. Then we both laughed because we realized we were talking about to completely different things. She had never heard of the British Smarties.
Robert: Yes, but Greece has soo many other yummy things. Except olives. I don't like olives. But the desserts? Yum.
Kim: I know what you mean. We have the chockie ones in Canada, and when I moved down here, I had to get used to not having them, and having these little things called Smarties instead. Whenever I go north I stock up on the chocolate ones. teehee
Likeschocolate: (Love the handle, btw). That's pretty funny! But I think you ought to check your temperature. Not like chocolate smarties? Are you feeling all right? :oD I guess the candy coating is a bit sweet. But I love em. And I still eat them the same way as when I was a kid. Separate the colours, then eat them so they come out even--making sure the red ones are last, of course!
You are so right; Smarties are candy-covered chocolates! Those up there are Rockets!! Obviously, I am a Canuck ;)
Sweetie, send me the link to this guy's blog. When I click on your link, it's telling me it's not found.
