Day 117: Snow Day

I tell you, if it doesn't warm up and let us get back to a normal schedule, I'm NEVER going to get back in shape.  I mean, really, when a person wakes up to this:

And spends some of the day watching these (sorry, there are quite a few--I had trouble choosing only one, but the birds are so cute!  This was my first year seeing cardinals up close, so what can I say.  I went nuts):

And then with the afternoon spent dealing with computer issues (again), playing umpteen games of Headache, playing with the dollhouse, and trying desperately to fill the hours, there was only one thing to do at the end of the day when daughter asked to make something in her new mini-cupcake kit that her Auntie R. gave her for Christmas, and that was to succumb and make these little brownie bites:

Like we don't have enough baking and sweet still around here!  But they were yummy--although they added yet more to work off.  Later.

Oh, I'm loving the birdies! We have the same ones, you and I! I love the double-shot of female cardinals...but how come the girls don't get the purdy colors?? I never got that.

Those brownies look positively heavenly!

The cardinals are beautiful! But I am more drawn to the cupcake. That frosting! And the sprinkles! :)

Birdies and cupcakes, 2 of my favorite things!
And the weather....*sigh*

Kathryn: I know? Isn't that always the way. And in the human world, it's the males that get the long eyelashes, curly, thick hair, and so on. So not fair.

elizabeth: Hullo there! Thanks for stopping by. The frosting is simply whipped cream, because I was too lazy and too sweeted out to make frosting. :D Julia added the sprinkles, then asked if she could put the container in her kit. teehee.

Maureen: I'm afraid it's just a regular brownie. Somebody around here doesn't have a recipe for chocolate mousse brownies... ;)

Thank you for reminding me how beautiful life is indeed. Played today about six hours with the kid, in the end he did fall asleep in me arm. Seems as if this year is up for a good start.
Please have you all a wonderful Wednesday.

Once again doing a bit of catch-up due to my laziness in checking my email junk folder. Whoops!

Jane: Brownies are my weakness. I made some last night with mint in them. Nice and warm with a bit of ice-cream equals heaven.

Christina: You caught me. The only frosting I like takes forever, and since I like whipped cream better anyway---yes. It's just whipped cream on top. :)

Robert: Oh! That's so sweet! Don't you love it when they play and play and then--CRASH. They're out like a light in your arms. Another bit of heaven. Have a brownie while he sleeps and it can't get any better than that!

La ninja: For sure. Come over and we'll go nuts together! Think I'm going to need more storage space...

Bumblevee: It was amazing. And what is fun is watching them from the spring. They get gradually redder and redder until by winter they're spectacular. In which part of Canada are you?
