Day 178: Last Hurrah?

The way things are melting out there today, this may be my last ice/snow photos of the season.  If there is any justice in the universe.  At all.

It was a good thing I spotted the potential in these icicles when I did, because not ten minutes later they smashed down onto the ground.  Was I sorry?  Not really.  I love ice and snow, but it's March.  It's time for them to take a break and let Spring have her fling.

I was starting to feel as though I lived in Narnia.

I know how you feel! I'm so excited that it's finally getting warm where I live. But your cold weather pictures have been GORGEOUS! And this post is no exception. :)

Hi, I'm from Montreal and just discovered your blog. Having one photo a day is quite a challenge I might try it someday. For the few photos I looked at, you have a great eye and talent! Bravo!

Amazing photographies, of a wonderful measurement of time. Wishing you much sunshine during the following weeek and a nice start in it.

Gorgeous! Winter definitely has its own beauty, but there's something to be said for warmer weather and longer days.

Narnia yeah that's it that's what the winter photos look like great description. The icicles are lovely. We are just entering Autumn still a long way till winter and no snow even then oh well.

Oh, what a lovely, beautiful, happy thing to see! Love the melting icicles! Now, THOSE I can look at all day.

They represent HOPE!

Jenna, that is so sweet. Hopefully I'll be able to make something out of mud, because that's what we're going to be wallowing in for awhile.

Shawna: YES!!

Robert: I just checked out your blog. WOW! You're a REAL photographer. I just pretend. And drool over the lenses, since I'm just using my cruddy old kit lens. Thanks for stopping by!

Robert: Thanks so much. It seems like time has been dragging this winter, that's for sure. I love winter--probably more than most--but by March I'm ready for a bit of warmth.

Tracy: I so hear you.

Kim: When I was a kid, my uncle's girlfriend from Perth came to Canada in the winter. We had her shovelling snow and drawing water from a hole in the ice. I think when she went back home, she was cured.

Kathryn: As in "I hope they don't fall on me!" SEriously, though, I agree with you. It is a very hopefully time. By now that's all we have to hang on to, frankly.

Laurie: Go stick your head in a freezer... teehee. Really, though, I can see how having only a slight shift in season would be a bit hard after awhile. I love having four distinct ones.
